Quiz Night 1st September 2017

We kicked off the evening with a fantastic blind wine tasting competition from The General Wine Company.  Alan Snudden, Managing Director and Tim Mellor, Wine Manager ran a fun competition to test the general knowledge of different grape varieties and wine identification.  The winning table received a very large bottle of Claret, courtesy of The General Wine Co.

The main event of the evening, the quiz was expertly executed by Rob Miller with help from Suzanna Miller and Steve Baker.

A great mix of challenging questions came and went.  The pressure was heating up!

While the brains rested we served some pretty amazing food, cooked by the one and only Barbara Frost and her team consisting of Jackie, Jenny and June.  The delicious sausages were supplied by Kaighin and Daughter and the potatoes donated by Dan from Liphook Fish & Chips (Headley Road). The Chocolate Fudge Cakes were donated by L & S Gift and Coffee House.

Now enter the second part of the quiz.  Bellies a lot fuller, this was getting tougher!

The winning team were announced.. The Bird Brains.. Linda Costello from Peep Inside and her team.  They won the Wine Hamper, donated by The General Wine Co and felt incredibly intelligent!!  Out of 19 tables, they scooped the prize!

The raffle consisted of many generous donations from local business supporting the Carnival.  We had in excess of twenty six very interesting prizes worth at least £750, a list of which can be found on the website.

The grand finale.. Our Silent Auction consisting of a BMW track day or BMW Convertible for the weekend donated by Barons BMW, highest bid from Chris Poke.  An Old Thorns Package of a Nights Stay with dinner, bed and breakfast for two people, highest bid from Alex Landsberger and a Limited Edition Print by Cari Bateman, a local Artist; highest bid from Sally Cameron.
